Obituary of Jean Jacobson

Jean P. Jacobson, age 80, who lived most of her life in Wilton, passed away on Monday, January 12, 2015 at St. Vincent's Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of David M. Jacobson. Born in London, England on July 28, 1934, she was a daughter of the late Reginald and Kate Clack Harris. Jean held a Master's Degree in Geography from St. Catherine's College of the University of London. After immigrating to New York City, she was personal assistant to Academy Award winning filmmaker Jerome Hill, who was also a noted philanthropist and painter. Jean was an accomplished gardener and knitter. She served for many years as an officer in the Daughters of the British Empire. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and will be dearly missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her husband, David; her loving children, Mark H. Jacobson of New York City, Susannah Gobbi and her husband Lee of Easton and Victoria Barr and her husband Steve of Aztec, New Mexico; three cherished grandchildren, Owen and Lucinda Jacobson and Julian Gobbi; her sister-in-law, Gladys Jacobson of West Palm Beach, FL; her nephew, Gary Jacobson of Norwalk and her nieces, Sarabeth Kozlowski of FL and Michelle Rose of NY. Mrs. Jacobson was predeceased by her brother and sister, Malcolm and Anne Harris. A Memorial Service in celebration of Jean's life will be announced at a later date.
