Obituary of Charles B. Knight Sr.

Charles B. Knight Sr., age 72, of Trumbull, beloved husband of the late Eileen Klik Knight, passed away peacefully on Monday February 2, 2015 at St. Vincent's Medical Center with his loving family by his side. Born in Raymond, Maine on September 6, 1942 he was a son of the late George and Lula Spiller Knight. He was the owner and operator of Charles Knight Excavating and also was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local No.478 having worked for many area construction companies and as a crane operator before his retirement. Charles was a loving father and grandfather who enjoyed time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Survivors include two loving children, Charles B. Knight Jr., and his wife Jennifer of Trumbull and Robin Knight and her husband Paul Hernandez of New Haven, five cherished grandchildren, Tyler, Jordan and CJ Knight and Alex and Randy Knight-Hernandez, three sisters, Gertrude Tenney and her husband Franklin of FL, Phyllis Richardson of Ansonia and Carol Tripp and her husband John of FL, a brother, Benjamin Knight and his wife Paula of Maine, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother George Knight. Funeral services will take place on Friday February 6, 2015 at 9:30 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10:30 a.m. in St. Catherine of Siena Church, Trumbull for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull.
