Obituary of Mary C. Gennarini

Mary C. "Kay" Iassogna Gennarini, age 89, of Bridgeport, beloved wife of the late Mario A. Gennarini, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 15, 2015 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Bridgeport on October 1, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Stella Luparella Iassogna. Kay was a retired office manager for B'Nai Israel Synagogue in Bridgeport, where she worked for 50 years before her retirement. She enjoyed playing cards, reading and loved a good crossword puzzle. She was a devoted fan of the UCONN Huskies Women's Basketball team and loved to watch every game. But above all she was a dedicated mother, grandmother and great grandmother who took pride in the care and love she gave to her family. She will be missed by all who knew her. Survivors include her two loving sons, Frank T. Gennarini and his wife Cynthia of Milford and Mario A. Gennarini Jr. and his wife Sandra of Bridgeport, two grandchildren, Jinger Kalin and her husband Mark of Reno, NV and Nikki-Lyn Holm and her husband Michael of St. John, FL, two great grandchildren, Parker Kalin and Shaelyn Holm, a brother, Thomas Iassogna of Bridgeport, a brother-in-law, Robert Gennarini and his wife Leslie of Monroe, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, Nicholas and Emil Iassogna. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 19, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. directly in St. Theresa Church, 5301 Main St., Trumbull for a Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment will be private. Relatives and friends may greet the family at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull on Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to Hospice at Home 40 Lindeman Drive Trumbull, CT 06611.
