Obituary of Jorlando LaGaipa
Jorlando "Julius" LaGaipa, age 82, of Huntington, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 27, 2015 at CT Hospice in Branford surrounded by his loving family. He was the adored husband of the late Dolores Pagliaroli LaGaipa and his beloved first wife Carolyn Baratta. Born in Bridgeport on November 27, 1932, he was a son of the late Alphonso and Lucy Spinelli LaGaipa. Julius was employed by the BAC Union Local 1 as a bricklayer and master plasterman before his retirement with over 30 years of dedicated service. He loved watching the "Game Show Network" and also looked forward to spending time with his cherished grandchildren. Julius was a dedicated family man with an infectious smile that could brighten anyone's day. His bright blue eyes and gift for carrying on a conversation with anyone led to many close and long lasting friendships. Some of these friendships were made while tending to the unprecedented perpetual care of his late wives final resting places. He will be greatly missed by all that had the pleasure of knowing him.
Survivors include his children, Michael LaGaipa and his wife Julie Rose of FL, Paul LaGaipa and his wife Sharon of Redding and Julie Granata of Monroe, his cherished grandchildren, Michael, Drew, Grant, Deionisio and Dominique, his step grandchildren that were considered his own, Jed, Jessica, Peter and Victoria and step great grandchildren, Matthew and Kevin, his brother, Carmen LaGaipa and his wife Lorraine of Milford. He also leaves behind to cherish his memory the children of his late wife Dolores, Joseph Moody of Derby and David Moody and his wife MaryEllen of Milford as well as several nieces and nephews. Julius was predeceased by his brothers, Frank and Joseph LaGaipa, and a sister, Rose Ciambriello.
