Obituary of Harold E. Roberts

Harold E. "Hal" Roberts, age 78, beloved husband of Isabella "Izzy" DiMartino Roberts, passed away on Friday, April 3, 2015 at Masonicare of Newtown after a long and courageous battle with Parkinson's. Born in Bridgeport he was a son of Joseph and Elizabeth Riccio Roberto. Harold was a U.S. Army Veteran and served honorably with the 475th Engineer Corps, Ft. Bragg, NC. Before his retirement Mr. Roberts had been an administrator at Perkin Elmer for many years. Hal was a resident of Monroe for over 52 years and very involved in his community. He served on the parish council and was a trustee at St. Stephen's Church and was a proud member of the Monroe Jaycees. He enjoyed watching sports and was an avid Yankees, Giants and UCONN Basketball fan. In addition to his wife Izzy of 52 years, survivors include his two loving children, Cheryl Lever and her husband Tim, David Roberts and his partner Stephanie Knight, and a cherished grandson, Ben Lever all of NC as well as a brother, Joe Roberts of Milford and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers, John and Dan Roberts and sisters, Edith Driscoll and Marie Melone. Friends are invited to meet directly in St. Stephen Church, 6948 Main St., Trumbull on Thursday, April 9, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be private. Family and friends may call on Wednesday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at The Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull. At Hal's request, memorial contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to the family through the funeral home.
