Obituary of Steven Torok
Steven Torok, 79, of Stratford, passed away on April 14, 2015 and is now resting easy in the arms of his beloved JC. Born on August 16, 1935 in Fairfield, Steven was a son of the late John and Elizabeth Novak Torok. He married the love of his life, Doris Asprelli Torok in 1956, and together they built a home and family together in Trumbull.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Doris, his five children, Pamela and John Puskar of Trumbull. Laura Torok-Lobelson and David Lobelson of Ridgefield, Susanne and Kevin Kenney of Trumbull, Steven Torok of Shelton and Jennifer Torok of Seymour. He was affectionately known as "Pop Steve" to his grandchildren, John and Annie Puskar Jr., Michael and Lauren Puskar, Adam and Marisa Lobelson, Megan and Erin Kenney and Jacob, Kyle and Dylan Torok. Steven is predeceased by his parents and brothers, Louis, John, Frank and Joseph. Steve grew up in Fairfield and was a talented high school athlete, particularly in football and was presented with the Frank Gallagher Award as a sophomore. Steven was a lifelong Finish Carpenter and builder who constructed dozens of houses in the greater Trumbull area. In his later years he was a skilled cabinet and furniture maker. He was member of the Masons Washington Lodge #19 AF & AM in Monroe.
Friends are invited to meet directly in St. Peter's Episcopal Church, 175 Old Tannery Rd., Monroe on Saturday, April 18, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. for a funeral service. Interment will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery, Stratford. Family and friends may call on Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at The Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a food pantry of your choice.
