Anthony was among one of the few gentle-men I've met in the photo industry. He had a kind soul, who cared for his clients and the photo community he dedicated his working life to. His passing was a shock and I am deeply saddened for his family. It was a privilege to know Anthony, he will be dearly missed - but never forgotten.

My deepest condolences, and thoughts and prayers to the entire Ruotolo family. I had the pleasure of working with Anthony at Hachette Filipacchi Media. He was one of the most innovative , creative and hard working media executives I have ever experienced. He was simply a joy to be around -- his humor , wit and caring for people was simply amazing. The world is not as bright today now that he is gone! Anthony my friend, may you rest in eternal peace. God bless!

I worked with Anthony for 25 years. There are only three words to describe him: class, class, class. Nobody worked harder for Pop Photo than Anthony – for our staff, for our business associates, and most important, for our readers. Because Anthony, unlike a lot of publishers, knew his product intimately. He was a photographer. He knew the stuff. He understood, on a personal level, the passion that leads people to want to make beautiful or moving or disturbing images. Oh yes, the editorial staff got him nervous early and often – a mixed review of a camera or other piece of equipment – and we always knew when he was nervous: that was when he acted with the most nonchalance. In other words, with class. He was more than a colleague; he was my friend. I would hope that his family may take some comfort in knowing that a legion of people recognize Anthony for what he was, and will remain in our hearts: A true professional, an exemplar of grace and fortitude, and a really, really good guy.

Anthony Ruotolo was my dear friend and my unfailing supporter as well as one of the nicest, finest, most upstanding and talented human beings I have ever known. I send my condolences to all members of his devoted family, his many friends, and to everyone at Bonnie Corp.. I am saddened beyond belief and I will miss him and his wonderful sense of humor terribly. The only consolations are that I got to know him personally and that he had a wonderful life, albeit far too short, and a beautiful loving family. Warm regards, Jason

Anthony was a truly gracious man. As a fellow PMDA Board member, I know he loved the photo industry, was passionate about its opportunities, and was always willing to say "yes, we can do that". But, he was more than Mr. Pop Photo. He was so full of love and enthusiasm for his family, encouraging Simone to join him at industry events, talking about his children, and eager to get back to Connecticut. His death is such a shock. I wish I had been able to give him a quick hug and say "Thank You" for all that he did for PMDA and the photo business. I truly feel graced to have known him. He will be seriously missed. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.
