Obituary of Marie A. Bacon

Marie A. Bacon, age 72, of Bridgeport, died peacefully on Monday, July 27, 2015 at Yale New Haven Hospital with her family by her side. Marie was born on January 4, 1943 to the late Roger Vaillancourt and the late Marie Vaillancourt Lagasse. Marie was also predeceased by her stepfather Roger Lagasse. Marie worked for many years for Pathmark Supermarkets, where she made many friends who she always greeted with a smile and her infectious laugh. Marie later worked for Stop and Shop as a pharmacy technician until her retirement in 2013. She was loved by all she worked with and always had a sunny disposition for her customers. Marie's passion, love and creativity with her knitting and cross stitch made her popular at various craft fairs in the local area. People would come looking for her table to see what new items she had created for the fair. Survivors include her loving husband of 49 years, James Bacon of Bridgeport, her three children, David Bacon of Bridgeport, Steven Bacon and his wife Kathy of Stratford and Michelle Bacon and her companion John Kay of Ansonia, her beloved pride and joy, her granddaughters, Caitlin and Heather Bacon of Stratford, her three sisters, Doris Massey and her husband Robert of NH, Janice DeFelice and her companion Neil Kenney of MA and Janet Mahfuz and her husband Hussein of NH as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who she cherished dearly. Friends may greet the family on Friday, July 31, 2015 from 4–8 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull. A prayer service will take place at 7:15 p.m. Inurnment will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
