Obituary of Kathleen A. Kovacs

Kathleen A. Kovacs, age 63, of Trumbull, passed away at her home with her loving family and friends by her side on Tuesday, September 1, 2015. Born in Bridgeport on June 7, 1952 and having grown up in the Black Rock section, she was the daughter of Zoltan Kovacs of Stratford and the late Anna Yacko Kovacs. Kathleen graduated from Kolbe Cathedral and St. Joseph's College in West Hartford. She was an elementary school teacher for many years in Bridgeport and at All Hollows School in Moosup, CT and later worked for Save the Children and as a Marketing Representative for both Webster and People's Insurance. A devout catholic, she was a longtime parishioner of St. Theresa Church and was actively involved with their many functions. Kathleen served as a Youth Group Leader, a CCD Catechist and a Eucharistic Minister, faithfully distributing Communion to those at Middlebrook Farms on Sundays. She also was greatly involved with Cursillo and the RCIA retreats. She touched many people's lives and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. In addition to her father Zoltan, other survivors include several aunts, cousins and many dear friends too numerous to mention. The family would like to thank the nurses at CT Hospice of Branford, the staff at St. Vincent's Swim Center and the homecare hospice nurses that cared for her over the previous two and a half years. Their care and compassion was greatly appreciated. Friends are invited to meet directly in St. Theresa Church, 5301 Main St., Trumbull on Saturday, September 5, 2015 at 9:00 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Family and friends may call on Friday from 3-7 p.m. at The Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
