Obituary of Joseph P. Cascio
Joseph P. Cascio, age 88, of Monroe, beloved husband of Edith Cortello Cascio, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 2, 2015 with his loving family by his side. He was born in Bridgeport on March 17, 1927, to the late John Sr. and Angeline Bonazzo Cascio.
Joe was a U.S. Army Veteran serving during World War II. He was a self-employed mason who took pride in his work. Joe enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, but above all, he treasured his time with his family, especially his grandsons. He was a dedicated husband, father and grandfather, whose memory and strong family values will continue to live in the hearts of his loved ones. Joe will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his wife of 63 years, Edith, survivors include his children, Gary Cascio and his wife Gena, his devoted daughter, Janet Cascio, his cherished grandsons, Danny and Billy Cascio, all of Monroe, as well as several wonderful nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, John Cascio Jr., and two sisters, Phyllis Palumbo and Evelyn Napolitano.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. directly at St. Jude Church, 707 Monroe Tpke, Monroe. Interment with full Military Honors will follow in the St. Monica Mausoleum in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. There will be no calling hours.
