Obituary of Domenic Amoroso Jr.

Domenic Amoroso Jr., age 86, beloved husband of the late Virginia Huntley Amoroso, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, October 14, 2015. Born in Torrington on February 7, 1929, he was a son of the late Domenic and Fannie Marciano Amoroso. He was retired from Bridgeport Machines where he worked for more than 25 years. Domenic was an accomplished gardener and avid Yankees and Giants fan. He was an usher for many years at St. Theresa Church. He never missed a family holiday or picnic with his beloved brothers and sisters. His greatest joy in life was spending time with his children and grandchildren. He will be remembered for his strength, his loving and devoted nature and especially his good sense of humor. He will be greatly missed by all those whose lives he has touched. Survivors include three daughters, Joyce Chalfin, and husband Richard of Boston, MA, Beverly Naomi Persky, and husband John Persky of Israel and Michelle Amoroso, of Newtown, CT, nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren, Robin Chalfin and wife KK and daughters, Ella and Aria, Jake Chalfin and wife Kate, Julia Chalfin and fiancé Christoph Sheuermann, Benjamin (Persky) Young and wife Jordana and sons Gabriel, Zachary and Jonah, Nathaniel Persky and wife Jennifer, Joshua Persky and wife Abigail and daughter Liliana, and Samuel, Noah and Abraham Persky. He is survived by three brothers, Joseph, Anthony and wife Marge, Felix and wife Joyce Amoroso, and three sisters Mary Saccol and husband Reno, Antoinette Avery, and Annie Samperi as well as many nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Bartholemew Amoroso and sister Carmella Croteau. Funeral Services will take place on Monday, October 19, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 11:00 a.m. in St. Theresa Church, Trumbull for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Friends may call on Sunday from 1-5 p.m. The family would like to express gratitude to the Caring Hospice of Stamford for their wonderful care of Domenic.
