Obituary of Joseph C. Stonoha

Joseph C. Stonoha, age 94, of Easton, beloved husband of Jeanne Donady Stonoha, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 24, 2015. Born in Bridgeport on March 2, 1921, he was a son of the late Michael and Anna Kubina Stonoha. A U.S. Navy veteran, Joe was a retired Pumper Engineer for the City of Bridgeport Fire Department, with 39 years of dedicated service. He was a member of the Bridgeport Area Retired Firefighters and was a devote parishioner of the Jesse Lee United Methodist Church of Easton. But above all he was a loving and dedicated husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren. Joe will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him. In addition to his beloved wife of 59 years, Jeanne, survivors include three loving children, Mary Ann Stonoha of Greenville, SC, Joseph R. Stonoha and his wife Susan of Fairfield and Thomas G. Stonoha of Milford, CT, four cherished grandchildren, Christina, Alyssa, Gabrielle and Thomas Jr., as well as several nieces and nephews. Joe was predeceased by all of his brothers and sisters. Funeral services will take place on Friday October 30, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. directly in the Jesse Lee United Methodist Church 25 Flat Rock Rd., Easton. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Thursday from 4-8 p.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
