Obituary of Fernando R. Ramos

Fernando R. Ramos, age 79, of Shelton, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 3, 2015 in Bridgeport Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Maria Fernanda Oliveira. Born in Province of Chaves, Portugal on September 1, 1936, he was a son of the late Domingos and Maria Gloria Chaves Ramos. An immigrant from Portugal, he never lost touch with his love of its culture. Fernando was an extremely hardworking man and was dedicated to his work for Empire Paving Company for 22 years before his retirement in 1995 as a paver. He also adored his grandchildren and his devotion to them was second to none. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his three loving children, Adolfo Ramos and his wife Paula of Shelton, Elizabeth Scrivani of Shelton and M. Paula Mastropetre and her husband Marc Sr. of Derby, five cherished grandchildren, Sebastian Ramos, Melissa and Nicholas Scrivani and their father Gary, Marc Mastropetre, Jr. and Matthew Mastropetre, his two brothers, Jose Ramos and his wife Palmira of Mineola, NY and Manuel Ramos and his wife Noemia of Dix Hills, NY, two sisters, Maria DaSilva of Portugal and Maria Filipe and her husband Jose of Queens Village, NY as well as several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Funeral services will take place on Saturday, November 7, 2015 at 11:30 a.m. directly in St. Lawrence Church, 505 Shelton Ave., Shelton for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
