Obituary of Katherine Lucia Panicali Luciano

Katherine Lucia Panicali Luciano, age 85, of Trumbull, passed away peacefully on November 1, 2015. Born in Bridgeport on November 10, 1929, Katherine was the daughter of the late John and Angelina Volpe Lucia. A graduate of Warren Harding High School, Katherine pursued a career in the fashion industry and was a fashion buyer for the former Model Fur. She also took great pride in volunteering at St. Vincent's Medical Center for many years. Above all else, however, her most fulfilling role in life was that of wife, mother and grandmother. The memories of the love she shared with her family will live forever in their hearts. Katherine will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Mrs. Luciano was predeceased by her first husband, Paul B. Panicali, her second husband, Michael C. Luciano M.D. and her brother, John J. Lucia. Survivors include her two loving daughters, Janice Thibodeau and her husband James of Monroe and Laura Cotter and her husband William of Naples, Florida. Katherine is also survived by her five grandchildren, Paul, Katherine and Kyle Thibodeau and William and Daniel Cotter, as well as several nieces and nephews. She also leaves a loving and devoted caregiver, Natalie Oswald. Funeral services will take place on Saturday, November 7, 2015 at 9:30 a.m. in Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10:00 a.m. at Christ the King Church, Trumbull for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Saturday morning from 8:30 a.m. until the time of the service.
