Obituary of Lena A. Uliano

Lena A. DiOdoardo Uliano, age 91, of Stratford, beloved wife of the late Peter J. Uliano, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 3, 2016 with her loving family by her side. Born on February 5, 1924 in Mount Hope, West Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Dominick and Theresa Rocarrio Diodoardo. A retired employee of the City of Bridgeport, Lena was a cook at the Nutrition Center for many years before her retirement. She was a past president of the Blackham School PTA in Bridgeport, and enjoyed to talk on the phone often. But above all, she loved Sunday dinners when the family was all together. Family was very important to Lena and the memories made will continue to live on in those who knew and loved her. Survivors include two loving children, James Uliano and his wife Maryann and Theresa Dubyoski and her husband John, all of Shelton; four cherished grandchildren, Michele Morgan and her husband Richard, Jason Uliano and his wife Lori and Brittany and Ryan Dubyoski; five great grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Joseph, Dominick, Anthony and Gianna; a sister Helen DiOdoardo of West Virginia as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother Sam Dorado, and six sisters, Anna Lancia, Josephine Janczewski, Rose Uliano, Elvira McLain, Nellie DeVivo and Elizabeth Gaultieri. Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 11:30 a.m. in St. Margaret's Shrine, Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull.
