Obituary of Nancy S. Rampino

Nancy Shearer Rampino, age 76, of Stratford, beloved wife of the late John D. Rampino, Jr., passed away on Friday, January 8, 2016 at Bridgeport Hospital. Mrs. Rampino was born in Bridgeport on September 23, 1939 a daughter of the late Harry and Helen (Wargo) Shearer. She was employed by the Remington Co. in Bridgeport and the Franzus Co. of Beacon Falls as an Administrator until her retirement. Nancy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was loved by all who knew her and was affectionately referred to as "Mom" by many. She enjoyed telling stories and had the ability to make people laugh. She was a strong woman who wasn't afraid of anything. Nancy was loved by all who had the pleasure of knowing her and she will be deeply missed by all. Nancy is survived by her loving sons, John D. Rampino III and his wife Georgette of Tennessee, Mark H. Rampino and his wife Roberta of Ansonia, Steven G. Rampino of Naugatuck, Thomas D. Rampino and his wife Maria of Shelton and Jeremy M. Rampino and his wife Tatiana of Trumbull; a brother, Gerald Shearer and his wife Lynn of Shelton; a sister, Patricia Pavia of Arizona; eight grandchildren, Christopher John, Alyssa, Ryan, Mitchell, Jillian, Blake, Buddy Shea and his wife Danielle and Patrick Shea; and one great grandchild, Simon as well as many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will take place on Tuesday, January 11, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull. Interment will follow in Lakeview Cemetery, Bridgeport. Friends may greet the family on Monday from 4-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675.
