Obituary of Joseph C. Fava

Joseph C. Fava, age 97, of Bridgeport, beloved husband of the late Frances Gabrielle Fava, passed away on Friday, January 22, 2016 in Ludlowe Health Care Center, Fairfield. Born in Bridgeport on January 29, 1918, he was a son of the late Gaetano and Calogera Bevilaqua Fava. Mr. Fava had been employed by Sprague Meter for many years before his retirement. Joseph found great enjoyment on his trips to the casino and was an avid dice player. He was also a classic cars enthusiast and loved listening to the music from the 1940's. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Survivors include a son, Thomas Fava of Bridgeport, two daughters, Carol Bixby and her husband Fred of Morresville, NC and Joanne Russo of Bridgeport, four grandchildren, Lisa Seno, David Russo and his wife Nancy, Danny Russo and his wife Lorayanna and Anthony Russo and his wife Marian, fourteen great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Grace Mobilio and her husband Albert of Stratford as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife Frances, he was also prededceased by his siblings, Josphine Tamburrino, Frank Fava, Mary DeLibro, Mary Trovarelli, Kathleen Sharnick and Frances Mobilio. Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at 9:30 a.m. directly in St. Mary Church, 25 Sherman St., Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Monday from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull.
