Obituary of Catherine A. McClinch

Catherine A. McClinch, age 29, of Fairfield passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, January 23, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Bridgeport on September 11, 1986, she was a daughter of Terrance J. and Nancy Gorton McClinch. A student at St. Catherine's Academy, she enjoyed swimming at the Westport YMCA and had a great love of all types of music. She spent summers in Boothbay Harbor, Maine where she enjoyed walks at Ocean Point, fast boat rides with her Dad and conducting the Thursday night band concerts at the library. In addition, Catherine loved to dine out, play basketball and hug her dog Whitney. Catherine was cherished by her entire large extended family. In addition to her parents, Terrance and Nancy, she is also survived by her brother, Sean McClinch and his wife Kristin of Trumbull, her sister, Kimberly McClinch of Astoria Queens, NY, her paternal grandmother, Virginia Daly McClinch of Fairfield and maternal grandmother, Anita Grillo Gorton of Stratford, her cherished nieces and nephew, James, Finn and Hannah McClinch as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins that will miss her greatly. She was predeceased by her paternal grandfather, Arthur L. McClinch and maternal grandfather, Eugene F. Gorton. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 28, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. directly in St. Theresa Church, 5301 Main St., Trumbull for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Nichols Village Cemetery, Trumbull. Friends may greet the family on Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull.
