Obituary of Margaret M. Turiano
Margaret M. DeVitto Turiano, age 101, of Wallingford and formerly of Bridgeport, beloved wife of the late Louis Turiano, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 11, 2016 in Regency House, Wallingford. Born in Bridgeport on December 15, 1914, she was a daughter of the late Antonio and Giovannina Lana DeVitto. Mrs. Turiano was a member of the Altar Guild at St. Raphael's Church, was an avid reader, enjoyed bowling and was forever a fan of her New York Yankees – never missing a game in over 50 years.
She also enjoyed listening to music of the big band era. But above all her greatest role was that of wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She treasured the time spent with her family and was proud to see four generations of family. She brought great joy and love to those around her and will be deeply missed.
Survivors include her five loving children, Anthony Turiano and his wife Donna of West Palm Beach, Fl, Gene Turiano and his wife Barbara of Sun City, AZ, James Turiano and his wife Janet of Bridgeport, Marilyn Renfrew of Wallingford and Louis Turiano Jr. and his wife Linda of Lake Worth, FL, 15 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren, as well as her nephews, Robert DeVitto and Joseph Turiano, both of Fairfield, She was pre-deceased by a grandson, John Turiano, son-in-law, Henry Renfrew, a sister, Mary DeMenna and brother, Frank DeVitto.
At Margaret's request all funeral services were held privately and burial took place in St. Michael's Cemetery, Stratford. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project 4899 Belfort Road, Suite 300, Jacksonville, Florida 32256 Arrangements were entrusted to the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull.
