Obituary of Michael J. Macarski

Michael "Mickey" Macarski, age 75, of Bridgeport, beloved husband of the late Audrey T. Tomarelli Macarski, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 18, 2016 in Bridgeport Hospital. Born in Dickson City, PA on January 14, 1941, he was a son of the late Joseph Macarski and Ila B. Kasperowski Macarski. A graduate of Bullard Havens Technical School, as an electrician, he was U. S. Army veteran and served with the Military Police in Germany. As a child, Mickey enjoyed spending his summers at his maternal grandparent's farm in Lakewood, NJ. He retired after 44 years of service as a foreman for General Electric where he was a member of the Quarter Century Club. He was an avid fresh water fisherman, enjoyed spending time watching boxing and trips to the casino with family and friends. Survivors include his loving daughter, Denise A. Macarski Clark and her husband Steven of Naugatuck, a grandson, James M. Clark, a brother, William Macarski of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, brother-in-law, Roger Spinelli of Huntington, a special niece, Nicole Spinelli Loiz, who was a great source of strength and comfort to him, as well as several other beloved aunts and uncle, nieces, nephews, cousins and brothers and sisters in-law. He was pre-deceased by his sister, Louise I. Spinelli. Funeral services will take place on Monday, February 22, 2016 at 9:30 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10:30 a.m. in St. Lawrence Church, Shelton for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be private in the Spring at Lawn Cemetery, Shelton. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Sunday from 1-5 p.m. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
