Obituary of Virginia Spataro

Virginia Ceccorulli Spataro, age 91, of Shelton, beloved wife of the late Joseph L. Spataro passed away peacefully on Friday, May 27, 2016 at Lord Chamberlain of Stratfford. Born in Bridgeport, on December 30, 1924, she was a daughter of the late Marino and Maria Pesaresi Ceccorulli. Before her retirement, Virginia worked in the cafeteria with the City of Bridgeport, Board of Education Department for many years. She was a wonderful cook and her family will miss the many gathering she hosted with all the delicious meals she prepared. She also enjoyed crocheting and loved to make many things for people and teach her friends at Lord Chamberlain how to crochet. She was a devoted wife and mother and truly loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and will be dearly missed by all. Survivors include her two sons, Joseph Spataro and his wife Susan and Ronald Spataro and his wife Connie all of Bonita Springs, FL, two sisters, Theresa Curiale of Pompano Beach, FL and Arlene Defeo of Derby, seven grandchildren, Carlye Calo, Joseph Spataro Jr., Lisa Mellers, Ronald Spataro, Joshua Spataro, Grace DeRose and Rebecca Garoffolo, and 15 great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers Carlo, Nello and Louis Ceccorulli. The family wishes to thank the entire staff at Lord Chamberlain for taking such wonderful care of our dear Virginia. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in The Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull. Friends may greet the family on Wednesday morning from 9:30 – 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Entombment will follow in the Garden Mausoleum at St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, 1952 Whitney Ave # 210, Hamden, CT 06517.
