Obituary of Janice and Kenneth Sullivan

Janice D’Amore Sullivan, age 74, passed away at home on Saturday, May 28, 2016 and was then joined by her husband of 55 years, Kenneth M. Sullivan, age 77, who passed away on Wednesday, June 1, 2016. Both were surrounded by their loving family. Jan was born in Chicago, IL on February 27, 1942 and she was a daughter of the late Galileo and Antoinette LaCapra D’Amore. Ken was born in Bridgeport on December 28, 1938 and was a son of the late Angie Agassi Sullivan and the late Louis Sullivan and his wife Bev Sullivan of Bridgeport. They both graduated from Central High School in Bridgeport. Janice went on to be a legal assistant with EQ Corporation of Shelton for many years and attended the law program at the University of Bridgeport from 1980 to 1982. She was a Charter Member of the North End Girls Club and in the 88 year history of the Boys Club in Bridgeport, Janice was 1 of 3 women elected to be the Director. She was also a former president of the Anna Baum Skane Association and spent countless hours volunteering with the United Fund, the Heart Fund and the American Cancer Society. Kenneth started his career with Manning Maxwell and Moore and was later employed by UPS from 1968 until his retirement in 2000. In 1961 he was stationed at Fort Dix, NJ in the U.S. Army. They are survived by their three loving children, Glen and Allison of San Diego, CA, Paul and his wife Jackie of Milford and Teri-Ann “Mouse” and her husband David of Shelton, four cherished grandchildren, Jackie, Kyle, Bailey Rain and Jacob, Jan’s brother, Michael D’Amore of Las Vegas, NV, Ken’s brother, Greg Sullivan and his wife Rachel of Shelton as well as many nieces and nephews. Jan was predeceased by a sister Marianne. A memorial service celebrating their lives will be held on Saturday, June 11, 2016 at 11:30 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull. Friends can greet the family on Saturday morning from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Center, Development Office, 125 Nashua St., Suite 540, Boston, MA 02114.
