Obituary of Leo R. Krusinski

Leo R. Krusinski, age 87, of Shelton and formerly of Bridgeport passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 9, 2016 at St. Mary Hospital in Waterbury. He was the beloved husband of the late Mabel Dean Krusinski. Born in Hazelton, PA on April 27, 1929, he was a son of the late Thomas and Helen Martinick Krusinski. A U.S. Army Veteran, Leo had served honorably during the Korean War. He was later employed by the City of Bridgeport Police Department, where he worked for over 30 years before his retirement as a Detective. He loved baseball and was proud to have coached his son David's little league team while growing up. Leo loved his mornings at Dunkin Donuts with his friends enjoying a laugh over a cup of coffee. He will be missed by his best canine friend, Pebbles and he also enjoyed the company of his daughters dog Bella. Leo was grateful to his wife Mae for tolerating the difficult schedule of an officer and he appreciated the great wife and companion he had in Mae. He was also very appreciative to his daughter Sandy and daughter-in-law Dianne for the love and support they gave to him throughout the years. A strong but loving husband, father, grandfather and brother, he will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his daughter, Sandra L. Falanga and daughter-in-law, Dianne Krusinski, both of Shelton, his four grandchildren, Scott and Joseph Krusinski and Tyler and Taylor Falanga, a sister, Irene Symansky and her husband Frank of Lake George, NY and a brother, Richard Krusinski and his wife Dorothy of Bridgeport. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins and a very special friend, Mike Kozlowski, whose support and friendship was greatly appreciated. He was predeceased by his son, David Krusinski and brothers, Thomas, Wallace and Norbert Krusinski. The family would like to thank the brother officers of the Bridgeport police department for the comradery and friendships shared with Leo. A prayer service will be held on Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull.
