Obituary of Theresa D. Lyons

Theresa Cavaliere Lyons, age 86, of Bridgeport passed away peacefully on Friday, July 8, 2016 at her residence. She was the beloved wife of the late Thomas P. Lyons. Born in Bridgeport on June 18, 1930 she was a daughter of the late Andrew and Julia Cavaliere. A graduate of Central High School, in her younger years she was employed at the Mohegan Market, where she met the love of her life, Tom. She loved to cook and also enjoyed playing cards, however her greatest pleasure was found in the time she spent with her family. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend who will be dearly missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her two loving sons, Thomas A. Lyons and his wife Michelle of Bridgeport and Timothy M. Lyons and his wife Gina of South Windsor, three cherished grandchildren, Julianna, Christopher and Heather and a beloved great grandson, Joey. She is also survived by her sister, Lucille Allen, sisters-in-law, Frances DeVack of Milford, Mary Alice Bardsley and her husband George of Shelton and Sharon Lyons of Oxford and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was also predeceased by her brothers, Vincent and Alphonso Cavaliere. Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 11, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd, Trumbull and at 11:00 a.m. in St. Andrew Church, Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Sunday from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
