Obituary of Anne K. Martin

Anne Louise Kleiner Martin, age 88, of Trumbull passed away on September 3, 2016. She was born in Bridgeport on April 21, 1928, daughter of the late Margaret and George Kleiner. She was the beloved wife of 66 years of Harry Joseph Martin. Anne and Harry (Bud) were married on September 2, 1950 and they raised 2 children in Trumbull. Anne graduated from Warren Harding High School in 1946 and worked as chairperson of many class reunions. Anne and Bud served as co-chairman of the Long Hill School PTA and Anne was president of the Bridgeport Medical Assistants Association. Anne retired from her position as Assistant to the Provost at the University of Bridgeport in 1991. Anne loved her church, Grace Episcopal, in Trumbull and her church family. She served on many commissions and was elected to the Vestry in 1971. She served 31 years as Clerk of the Vestry. Anne is survived by her husband and her children and their spouses, Christine and John Lockwood of Monroe and Timothy and Diana Martin of Indianapolis, Indiana. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Kathryn Lockwood of Cleveland Heights, Ohio; Matthew Martin of Wichita, Kansas; Jeffrey Martin of Boston, Massachusetts and Meghan Lockwood of Monroe; a nephew, Paul Laliberte of Milford, a cousin and his wife, Robert and Patricia O'Brien of Fairfield; and her Godson, David Smith, of Bradenton, Florida. A memorial service with Holy Eucharist will take place at Grace Church on Saturday, September 10, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. with the Reverend Robert Neville serving. It will be followed by a reception of light refreshments. Burial will be private.
