Obituary of Anthony T. DeFeo

Anthony T. DeFeo, age 94, of Bridgeport passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 17, 2016 at St. Vincent's Medical Center. Born in Bridgeport on July 10, 1922, he was a son of the late Luigi and Sabata Dimaio DeFeo. A proud veteran of the U.S. Army, he had served his country honorably during World War II. He had been employed by the Bridgeport Transit Authority, where he worked as a bus driver before his retirement with over 35 years of dedicated service. Anthony was proud to have been a Quartermaster with the Bridegport P.A.L. Cadets Drum and Bugle Corp and was fondly know as "Tony". He was an avid sports fan and loved his New York Yankees and the Connecticut UConn Girls Basketball Team. He was also an avid hobbyist, with a love for toy trains. He will best be remembered as a truly giving person, who was always too willing to help lend a hand to anyone in need. Survivors include his sister, Florence Pagnozzi of Stratford, a sister-in-law, Patricia DeFeo of Milford, nieces and nephews, Judith Pepe and her husband James of Milford, Gary Pagnozzi and his wife Carole of Shelton and Valerie Gilberti and her husband Thomas of Milford, his nephew and godson, Louis DeFeo of Milford, four great nieces, Deneen, Kimberly, Dana, April and eleven great great nieces and nephews, namely great great nephew and godson Justin Magri. He was predeceased by his brother, Valentino DeFeo and brother-in-law, August Pagnozzi. Friends are invited to go directly to St. Theresa Church, 5301 Main St., Trumbull on Monday, November 21, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment with full military honors will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
