Obituary of Steven J. Leshenski

Steven J. Leshenski, age 87, of Stratford passed away on Monday, November 21, 2016 peacefully at home surrounded by his family. He was the loving husband of Rose R. (Reali) Leshenski. Born on September 13, 1929 in Northbridge, MA, he was a son of the late Steven and Natalie Luke Leshenski. Steven proudly served our country in the U.S. Army during Korea. After the war, Steven graduated from Bridgeport Engineering Institute before graduating with his Master’s from the University of Bridgeport. He was employed as an engineer for the Textron Lycoming Co. until his retirement after 29 years. Steven enjoyed music and was a Tenor with the Coastal Chordsmen. An avid fan of the Boston Red Sox and the New York Giants, he also enjoyed his spare time out on the golf course. Steven was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend who will be truly missed by all who knew him. Besides his loving wife Rose of 62 years, he is survived by his four loving children, Carol Amt and her husband Frederic of Doylestown, PA, Steven A. Leshenski of Oxford, David Leshenski and his wife Annamarie of Stratford, and Nancy Wahl and her husband Sean of NY, NY; and his five cherished grandchildren Michael, Christopher, and Jonathan Amt and Samantha and Liam Wahl. The family would also like to express their thanks to the Visiting Angels and Vitas Hospice for their loving care of Steven during his difficult time. Funeral services will take place on Monday, November 28th, meeting directly at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Grace Church, Stratford, for a Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment will follow in the Garden Mausoleum of St. Michael’s Cemetery in Stratford with full military honors.
