Obituary of John Vastola

John "Jack" Vastola, age 90, of Huntington, beloved husband of the late Theresa Vastola passed away on Saturday, December 17, 2016 at Griffin Hospital with his loving family by his side. Born in Queens, NY, he was the son of the late Anthony and Frances Amato Vastola and was a resident of Corona, NY before coming to Connecticut. Jack was the loving husband to his late wife for over 65 years and devoted his life to his family. Survivors include his two loving sons, Gary Vastola and his wife Patricia of Shelton, Donald Vastola and his wife Irene of Rockville Centre, NY, six grandchildren, Dina Vastola and her fiancé Anthony Cali of Huntington, Danielle Vastola of Stratford, Jacquelyn Bunovsky and her husband Keith of Monroe, John Corris of Laguna Niguel, CA and Michael and Joseph Vastola both of Rockville Centre, NY , five great grandchildren, Connor, Michael, Mason, Makena and Carter as well as his devoted caregiver and friend, Ramon. Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at 9:00 a.m. in The Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull and at 10:00 at St. Catherine of Siena Church, Trumbull for a Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment will follow in St. Monica Mausoleum at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull.
