Obituary of Mary P. Young

Mary P. Young, age 96, formerly of Shelton, passed away on Friday, December 16, 2016 at Jewish Senior Services, Bridgeport. She was the beloved wife of the late Edward A. Young. Born in Bridgeport on May 15, 1920, she was a daughter of the late Myron and Anna Chervenak Plaskon. She was a retail manager for Steinbach's before her retirement with many years of dedicated service and also loved to travel, having visited Europe, Egypt and Israel. She was a lifelong member of the Golden Hill United Methodist Church. Her greatest enjoyment was found to be in the time she spent with her family, especially her grandchildren. A loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister, she will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her loving sons, Edward Myron Young of Pasadena, CA and Wayne Alan Young and his wife Deborah of Shelton, her sister, Dorothy Dipaulo and her husband Dominic of Orange, four grandchildren, Jessica Mouque and her husband Daniel of Brussels, Belgium, Daniel Young and his wife Kelly of Milford, Jennifer Young of Southington and Matthew Young of Milford, three great grandchildren, Declan Young and John and Peter Mouque as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by three brothers, Michael, John and Steven Plaskon and two sisters, Helen Baranowski and Irene DeFilippo. Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull. Interment will follow in Mountain Grove Cemetery, Bridgeport. Friends may greet the family on Wednesday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
