Obituary of Bessie Butto

Bessie Giangrasso Butto, age 95, of Trumbull, beloved wife of the late Philip Butto, passed away at home on Monday, January 16, 2017. Born on December 9, 1921 in New York City, she was a daughter of the late Carmello and Nancy Giaimo Giangrasso and was a graduate of Central High School, Bridgeport. As a bookkeeper and corporate officer, Mrs. Butto worked alongside her husband at the former Seaside Blouse Mfg. Co. in Bridgeport. She was a member of the Ladies Trinacria Society and the Italian Community Center. She enjoyed reading and traveling with her husband. Survivors include her loving daughter, Sally Butto, loving sisters-in-law, Bettie Giangrasso and Hilda Giangrasso, all of Trumbull as well as several loving nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Marion Butto and two brothers, Anthony E. Giangrasso, M.D. and Nicholas Giangrasso Esq. The family would like to thank Kathy for her wonderful and loving care of Bessie, the Visiting Nurses Service, and Hospice at Home for their wonderful and compassionate care. Funeral services will take place on Thursday, January 19, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. in Christ the King Church, Trumbull for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Long Hill Burial Grounds, Trumbull. Friends may call on Thursday morning from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
