Obituary of Wayne F. Engelman

Wayne F. Engelman, age 83, beloved husband of Bernadette Dorn Engelman of Trumbull, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 21, 2017 at Bridgeport Hospital. Born in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, on June 30, 1934, he was a son of the late Frederick and Dorothy Warrens Engelman and was a longtime resident of Trumbull.

Mr. Engelman was a United States Navy Veteran and served aboard the USS Worcester (CL-144) during the Korean War. Before his retirement he was a packaging engineer with Clairol of Stamford for over 20 years and was also involved in the construction field for a number of years. Wayne was a loving husband, father and grandfather and great grandfather and his greatest enjoyment was spending time with his grandkids.

In addition to his wife Bernadette of 60 years, survivors include five children, Sharon Geimer, MD and her husband Steve of Michigan, Kevin Engelman and his wife Caryn of Minnesota, Gerilyn Pinnow and her husband Nathan of Hawaii, Ann Card of Trumbull and Fred Engelman and his wife Donna of Trumbull, nine grandchildren, Jami, Matthew, Brian, Laura, Luke, Emma, Alexandyr, Ashley and Taylor, three cherished great grandchildren, Henry, Claire and Cece, and a cousin, Rodney Theobald and his wife Peggy of Wisconsin. He was predeceased by a daughter, Paula Engelman and his dear friend Terry Kohler. The family would like to thank the staff at Bridgeport Hospital, Vitas Hospice and Dr. Robert Fishman his cardiologist for all the care that was given to Wayne.

Funeral services will take place on Friday, July, 28, 2017 at 9:00 a.m. from the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull and at 10:00 a.m. in St. Stephen Church, Trumbull for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be held privately at Calvary Cemetery, Sheboygan, WI. Friends may greet the family on Thursday from 4-8 pm.
