I am broken hearted to hear this news. I, too, met Cathy first on Inspire and then in person at several conferences. Her brave spirit was so contagious, as she encouraged and hugged everyone. I don’t think she ever met a stranger. Like Cindy, I always thought she would always be with us, encouraging and making us laugh. She told us the story of her Dad’s passing and that he sent pennies from heaven, and she gave all of us a penny at the North Carolina conference. I still have mine in my purse and it always reminds me of her “F Cancer” and warm laugh. She taught me how to have sticker wars and we had many a laugh over it. She takes a part of my heart with her and I will truly miss her. My love and prayers to Tony and all those who love and grieve for her.

I am so sorry to hear that my dear Cathy has passed. I have known her 5 1/2 years. We met online when I was first diagnosed stage 4 Mets and soon after we met up at all the conferences. Often, we were the loudest laughing bunch at the restaurants. Know one would have guessed we were all together because of a nasty, horrible disease.
She was a fun loving person and we laughed a lot when we got together. Of course her sign off “f..k cancer” made me laugh and also gave me strength. She made me feel like we were invincible and would beat the odds.
She will always be in my heart. I am lucky to have had her in my life.
My prayers and thoughts are with all of you at this time.
With all my love,
Cindy lane

Oh Cathy
We were just talking not to long ago about the cats that we would try to help find a place for. I never thought this would happen. I’m crying uncontrollably now. I will miss talking to you. You were the sweetest person. I remember you went out looking for that cat last year that got away from a pet adoption in Fairfield. Oh my friend I will miss you. Rest In Peace until we meet again

To Cathy's Family - I am so sorry for your loss and am personally heartbroken. I first met Cathy through a breast cancer blog on the Internet. I was inquiring on behalf of my 81 year old Mom who had been diagnosed for Stage 4 cancer. We wanted to connect to learn about the various drugs that were discussed. Cathy responded and connected with me immediately. She "unselfishly" offered to speak to my Mom. She offered to call her directly, I am located in NC, and my Mom was in NJ, and Cathy in CT. She did call my Mom and they talked for probably 30-minutes. My Mom appreciated Cathy's call, and I have been connected to Cathy on Facebook ever since. Cathy was a special person - so unselfish, so positive, and great sense of humor and love her cheer-leading and support of others with cancer. I was devastated to learn of her passing - I will miss her very much, and will always have a place in my heart for her. I hope she has been reunited with her Dad; I can see her smiling now. My sincerest condolences.

Cathy and I met through an online forum for people living with metastatic breast cancer and were friends ever since. Cathy's zest for life, her endless supply of love for others, and a mischievous spirit were her trademarks.
Cathy will be missed by me and so many others, and her memory will remain a blessing.

It is indeed with a heavy heart that I say goodbye to Cathy. I met Cathy at a conference for those living with MBC, and we remained friends online since then. Always she tried to be supportive of her metastatic sisters. She was funny and full of life; indeed a very special women. She loved her family, her friends, her doctors, but most especially she loved her husband Tony, whom she always spoke about with love. I am truly sorry for your loss and hope and pray that your memories of Cathy will help you through this difficult time.

Cathy is one of the dearest and most devoted friends one could ever have and I am so blessed to have had her in my life for almost 20yrs. She made me laugh all the time, no matter how lousy she was feeling herself. She was always so positive and upbeat. I used to tell her all the time, I don't know how she did it.
To Tony, Gina , Mrs Rick, Debbie, Bill, Kenny and family...we send deepest condolences. Please know the entire family are in our special thoughts and prayers. Cathy is an absolute gem and she will never be forgotten.
With love,
Donna Cenerizio and Buck Johnson

I still can’t belive Cathy isn’t with us anymore. I really thought she would be here forever. She never looked sick or upset. That smile on her face lit up the room. My heart is broken. Working in the cafeteria with her was so much fun. She was always throwing food at me. We would laugh till we cried. She was such a great friend to me. I will always cherish her. The obituary that was written is beautiful. Rest In Peace my friend. I know we will see each other again. I love you and will miss you dearly. My prayers are with you all

She certainly was a shining star! She was a met sister who always took time to make you feel great and could get you laughing at her online antics! That endeared ffher to me because no matter how she felt, she always would make you feel good at certain lower times while battling this tortuous disease of MBC.
She was loved and she will be missed by so many! Fondly treasured and forever missed.

Tony, Gina, and all of Cathy's beloved family and friends, I am so, so sorry for your loss. I've known Cathy since the late 1990's volunteering with her through New Leash on Life, Inc. Cathy's passing breaks my heart because she fought so, so hard and for so, so long with this God awful disease. My mom, too, passed from metastatic breast cancer. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. And on behalf of Cathy F**K CANCER...
