Obituary of Luciano Iorio

Luciano Iorio, age 83, of Trumbull passed away at his residence on Sunday, May 26, 2013. Born in Torrice, Province of Frosinone, Italy on December 13, 1929, he was a son of the late Andrea and Domenica Iorio. Luciano had been a member of the Italian Army and upon moving to Connecticut in 1971 was employed by Engineering Tools and Manufacturing Company of Stratford before his retirement with over 20 years of dedicated service. A former member of the Circolo Sportivo Italian American Club of Bridgeport, he also took great pride in his gardens and found great enjoyment making wine. However, his greatest enjoyment was found in the time he spent with his cherished great grandchildren. Survivors include his daughters, Giuseppina Fontana of Trumbull, Loretta Bennett of Bridgeport and Liliana Ferreira and her husband Carlos of Bridgeport, a sister, Fiora Iorio of Italy, 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews in both the United States and Italy. He was predeceased by a son-in-law, Severino Fontana, a brother, Vincenzo Iorio and a sister, Louisa Iorio. Funeral Information Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 3, 2013 at 9:00 am at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull and at 10:00 am at St. Margaret Shrine, Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment will follow in the Pilgrimage Mausoleum of Mountain Grove Cemetery, Bridgeport. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 2:00 to 6:00 pm.
