Obituary of Donna L. Yasick
Donna L. Rummo Yasick, age 67, of Woodbridge, beloved wife of Joseph Yasick and mother of Nina Yasick, passed away peacefully on July 18, 2018 with her loving family by her side. Born in Bridgeport, CT on November 19, 1950, she was a daughter of the late Leonard M. and Filomena Rummo. A Nurse Practitioner, working with Fairfield County Internal Medicine in Bridgeport, Donna was a graduate of Bridgeport Hospital School of Nursing and went on to Sacred Heart University where she earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees. She was a former employee of Bridgeport Hospital with over 40 years of dedicated service. She worked in many capacities; she was the head nurse of the E.R. and cardiac step-down unit and worked in cardiac research, and geriatric and gastroenterology practices. She was very proud of her profession and took great pride in helping others. She was always thinking of those around her, whether it be her patients, family, or friends. She enjoyed traveling with her husband and daughter, skiing, cooking and loved to entertain at her home.
But above all her accomplishments and roles in life, none was greater than that of wife and mother. Donna worked very hard on her education, but always put the needs of her family first. Her greatest times in life were those spent with her daughter. The memories they created and the unconditional love she gave will always live in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Donna will be greatly missed.
In addition to her beloved husband Joseph, of 37 years, survivors include her adored and cherished daughter, Nina Yasick of Las Vegas, NV, a devoted sister, Renae L. Rummo of East Haven, brother-in-law, Robert Yasick and his wife Bonnie and their children Jeff and Kathy, brother-in-law William Yasick and his wife Donna, as well as additional nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. directly in Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 81 Center Rd., Woodbridge, for a Mass of Christian Burial.
