Obituary of Richard E. Cimino
Richard E. Cimino beloved husband, father, uncle and friend passed away peacefully in his home on July 29, 2018 with his wife and children by his side. Son of Vincent and Londa Cimino, Richard was a lifelong resident of Stratford. He served in the Navy reserves and married the love of his life, Gertrude Morgan Cimino.
Richard worked for 20 years in advertising at the Bridgeport Post, upon leaving the newspaper became part owner of King Discount Liquor in Bridgeport where he was fondly known as The King until he retired. An avid gardener, his joy came from sharing the fruits of his labor with family, friends and neighbors. A lifelong Yankees fan, he was rarely seen not wearing his Yankee cap.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Gertrude Morgan Cimino and his children Lori Ann Cimino of Sugar Hill, GA and Richard Vincent Cimino of Milford, CT, cousins Ken Caserta, Janice Caserta, Robert Caserta and Gary Caserta; special sisters-In-Law Veronica Sheftic and Susan Pastir, loving Godson Brian Maslar, lifelong friend Ed Masek and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Richard is predeceased by his sister Patricia Ann Cimino.
Friends are invited to greet the family at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull on Wednesday, August 1, 2018 from 4 to 7 p.m. Interment will be private.
