The passing of Todd deeply touches the many lifelong friends of the entire Dowty family. Cliff and Claire Dowty were blessed with four wonderful sons, however it was their values, spirit, and dedication to family instilled in these fine young men that guided them as they matured and established families of their own. Todd, being the youngest, clearly learned from his brothers and loved them deeply. The family has a loss that will never be filled,yet the Dowty family will carry on and continue to reflect the virtues that are a model to others. Todd was second to none. He was the best brother-in-law anyone could ask for. No matter what he was doing or where he was, he would drop what he was doing and come help. He never asked for anything in return and he was always very humble. Todd was our rock. He was easy to like. He was easy to love. We had lots of fun times with Todd, from the parades dressing up as Smurfs, to the campgrounds and Lake George. As a single parent Todd helped me out a lot from putting toys together to the many moves. He was always there when I needed him. He is loved. He will be greatly missed. My condolences for the loss of such a great man. Mr. Dowty was my freshman year woodshop teacher. And it was the highlight of my day, he always had a smile on his face whenever I’d see him in the hallways. He is a teacher beloved by many and he will be missed. I’m sorry for your loss, thoughts and prayers go out to your family.

I want to send my sincerest condolences to the Dowty family for their loss. To me, Todd was "Coach Dowty", and he was the best mentor and role model for myself and my teammates. I will always remember his friendly nature and contagious personality. I hold close to my heart the sage advice he gave me throughout the years. He will be missed by all who were lucky enough to know him.

My father, Ernest Walker, was Todd’s grandmother’s brother. I remember wonderful times at Wallum Lake when the Dowty family came to visit us on vacation. My heartfelt sympathy to all of Todd’s family.

Todd was a great teacher and person. He would not hesitate to help anyone. I taught with Todd in day and night school computer lab classes, he showed tremendous patience and caring dealing with both high school and adult learners. Rest in peace Todd.
