Dear Sondra, I never had the chance to meet Fred, but by searching the relatives through the world I´ve found you just a short time ago, and I was so happy about that. Fred was born in the same year like me, that shows me how short life could me. As a wife I can´t find words to tell you my feelings and I think nobody can feel like you do now. Can´t find the right words to tell my feelings. In my thoughts i am with you and the boys. Love,Petra

I'm deeply saddened to hear of Fred's passing. He was a very kind and gentle soul and a wonderful father to his two boys. We were neighbors many years back and he not only helped me out on several occasions but took my son under his wing as a painting apprentice. Not only did he teach him a valuable skill he will have forever but he also mentored him with his respect, integrity, and wisdom. I am eternally grateful for his kindness and for the privilege of knowing him. My condolences to Sondra, Hunter and Holden. May the memory of his goodness and kindness comfort and guide you.

We met Fred and Sondra only a few years ago and In the short time became good friends. We shared stories, laughs and common interests over a relaxing drink at our common place , the marina. Such a nice and generous guy and family. He will be greatly missed but not forgotten. All our prayers and condolences to you and your family.

Everyone who met Fred instantly became his friend. His soft spoken demeanor and kind heart made the world a better place. He loved chatting with people and always made them feel like they were important. Fred was a great friend and loved his family. His passing is a shock and way too early. We will miss him dearly. My deepest sympathy to the Stern family, friends and colleagues for your loss, my thoughts are with you. I first met Fred almost 20 years years ago when I was a new homeowner in Monroe, and saw him just last year when he did some work for me again. Fred was wonderful to work with, professional, courteous and caring, then and now. He will certainly be missed by the entire Monroe community. My heartfelt condolences.

We just met Fred this past summer, when he and Dave did a wonderful job of painting our house here in Southbury. Fred's expertise was obvious and he was fully committed to doing the best job he possibly could. He was not about to take shortcuts and would certainly not put paint on top of damaged wood until it was properly repaired.
We shared many conversations over coffee or lunch, talking mostly about the foibles and pitfalls of the construction business, but during these times Fred's genuine compassion and devotion to family and friends became obvious. We did get the chance to know Hunter, who carefully painted some of the more inaccessible siding areas.
Marcye and I are extremely sorry to hear of Fred's passing. He was a true professional and a caring man. We wish to offer our sincere condolences to all family and friends.
