I had the pleasure as a kid to go fly with you (with my uncle on board too) while you were doing your traffic reporting for WICC. You'll be missed

Mat an I are saddened by the loss of Morgan. He was my son's mentor along with Moe from when he was 11 Y/O at the model airplane club. He went on to become an engineer the field of aviation due to Morgan who brought the gift of flight to him from when Morgan co-owned a Cessna 150 with Mat in the early 2000's.
Because of Morgan who have touched people along the way, like Mat, he will forever be in our hearts and minds.

When Long Beach West, was threatened to be sold, I knew I was on the right side of the issue when I saw Morgan at the Stratford Town Hall hearing. In the end passion, intelligence and thoughtfulness like his, won. Pat, I immediately thought of you, always gracious and loving. My heart goes out to you.

The tears were running down my face as I read my sister's emailing informing me of Morgan's passing. Morgan was one of my Dad's best "buds", both sharing an avid interest in flying and in airplanes. I'm so sorry.

I actually first met Morgan when I was very young. Morgan used to fly with my father , who is now deceased and is now in the New Jersey Aviation Hall of Fame, many years ago. We picked up our relationship years later when I was operations manager of WELI and did boating reports from the sound on weekend. Morgan and I covered several news stories together. WE later teamed up with LISA (Long Island Sound America). I produced videos for the event. He and I flew together many times while he took stills and I took video. He arranged for Cliff Robertson's participation in my ESPN sport aviation special "Airshow" that I produced and hosted and aired internationally. The show also contained a segment about the Whitehead aircraft. After that we served together when I was vice president of the Connecticut Air and Space Center and we were both founding members. We also worked on projects together when I was Chairman of the Stratford Waterfront and Harbor Management Commission. He gave my son Joel his first airplane ride. Today Joel is a pilot for Jet Blue. But above all Morgan was a friend. He was one of a kind and a shining star in Bridgeport.

It is with great sadness we all feel at the passing of Morgan. He was a great friend and mentor to our son when he was in the R/C Balsa Bugs Model Airplane club in
Stratford, and later when he was in aviation school at the airport. Finally when he was invited to be Morgan's crew chief for his Bi-Plane.
We will miss him. Keep flying high.

My fondest memory of my Great Uncle Morgan was the personal grand tour flying Long Island Sound, New York City and around the Statue of Liberty in 1981. He was a brilliant broadcaster, a fantastic photog, an amazing advertiser and a creative comic. He was a tremendous Father and family man.
This guy lived the life!
Morgan absolutely loved his community and the people he came in to contact with. He was a genuine people person. Nothing in the world could take him away from Connecticut and its people. This was his home and you all were his family.
It is nice to see comments from family and friends however; when a listener and even a broadcaster comment here it means a lot to me and to his family.
I love you Uncle Morgan.

I can still hear your voice like it was yesterday. I listened to you every day on the way to work, and then at home when I retired. You were part of my life. Let your survivors be comforted by how much you were loved and respected by people who never met you but considered you a friend.

A little part of my childhood died today. As a child (in the 1980s), I remember hearing Mr. Kaolian's daily traffic reports on WICC 600, and thinking about how cool it would be to be on the radio. Fast-forward about thirty years or so, and radio broadcasting is my profession of choice.
Death is a strange thing, seemingly. At times, you know when a loved one is in their last days; still, you're never fully prepared to say goodbye to them (I know this first-hand, as my father passed in 2015). Yet, death is not the end all and be all, it seems; I believe that those who have gone before leave a little bit of their souls to the next generation. In that sense, nobody ever really dies, as we know death to be. Mr. Kaolian has left a legacy for the next generation; hopefully, he's left his family with many happy memories as well. Just my thoughts.
To the family of Morgan Kaolian, I send my sincerest condolences, and prayers.
