Obituary of Lewis E. Jersey

U.S. Army Veteran Lewis E. Jersey, age 87, of Trumbull, beloved husband of Helen Fairley Jersey, died on Tuesday September 28, 2009 at Maefair Health Care Center, Trumbull. Born on August 28, 1922 he was a son of the late Everett and Elizabeth Jersey. A veteran of the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers, he served in the European Theatre during WW II and was a retired employee of Swan Engraving Co. of Bridgeport. A long time Trumbull resident, he enjoyed carving wood ships and anything maritime. In addition to his wife, survivors include three children, Lynn Ceccarelli and her husband Dennis of Anderson, SC, Lewis Jersey and his wife Sue of Derby and Bruce Jersey of Trumbull, four grandchildren, Dennis Ceccarelli, Brian, Kevin and Matthew Jersey and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sisters, Ruth Ressler and Grace Jersey and by a brother, John Jersey. Funeral Information A memorial gathering celebrating his life will take place on Friday October 2, 2009 a 7:00 pm. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull. Relatives and friends can greet the family on Friday from 6 p.m. until the time of service.
