Born in Istanbul, Turkey on November 10, 1934, she was the beloved daughter of Osman and Musereff Yardim. Ms. Oncu came to this country with her husband Nejat Oncu and two daughters, Sehnaz Dirik and Dilara Baunach to seek a better life leaving her only known birthright behind her in Turkey. She graduated from Nursing School in Istanbul and took that knowledge with her to the States. After learning the language from the ground floor up she successfully passed her nursing exam and worked tirelessly for close to 45 years as a nurse helping those in need. She eventually settled with her family in Burlington Mass after living in Germany, Montreal Canada, Keene NH and Norwood Mass. She worked as the head Registered I.V. Therapy Nurse at the world renowned Lahey Clinic in Burlington since its inception, grandfathering her in as one of the first nurses at the facility over 40 years ago before retiring in her mid-70’s. She is survived by her daughter Sehnaz Dirik and husband Artun Dirik from Acton, Ma and Dilara Baunach and her husband Stephen Baunach from Trumbull, Ct as well as 5 grandchildren Tanyel and Devin Dirik and Dean, Neil and Stevie Baunach. She was loved beyond words and known as the feisty little Turkish Nurse that could put a picc line in the ER when on one else could. Her laughter, her cooking and her love for everyone including her beautiful daughters and grandchildren will be missed but her memory will always continue and be treasured forever. Rest in Peace sweet Mama and Anne. We love you forever. All services were held privately by the family and were entrusted to the Abriola Funeral Home 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull, CT.
