I married into Yogi's family this past August and had the pleasure of getting to know his warm and protective presence for the last five years. As my relationship with his granddaughter grew, so did his eagerness to include me on lunch trips to Bill's Drive-In where we talked all things basketball. He always made me feel part of the family. The coolest memory for me occurred a couple years back when his granddaughter and I shared lunch, Dunkin' donuts coffee, and lottery tickets with him one afternoon. He brought me into his favorite convenience store to pick up the tickets and eagerly introduced me to the cashier as "the guy who's marrying my granddaughter!". After the introduction and a handshake, Grandpa Yogi asked me to pick the lucky numbers for that day's lotto. We may not be millionaires right now, but you made me feel like a million bucks that day and I'll always be thankful for it, Grandpa Yogi:)
