Obituary of Carl M Filkovsky

Resident of Shelton FILAKOVSKY Carl M. Filakovsky, age 74, of Shelton, beloved husband of the late Theresa Volpe Filakovsky, passed away on Thursday, March 11, 2010 in St. Vincent Medical Center. Born in Bridgeport on September 29, 1935, he was the son of the late Michael Filakovsky and Jennie Holly Filakovsky. Before moving to Shelton, Carl was a Bridgeport resident. Carl was a machinist for Bridgeport Machines for many years and in his later years worked for Autotote. Carl was also a Retired Staff Sergeant for the Army National Guard. In addition to his wife, who he missed dearly, he was pre-deceased by an infant sister Carol Filakovsky. He is survived, loved and will be greatly missed by his two children, who he thought the world of, a son, Michael Filakovsky and wife Bonnie and a daughter, Christine Varrone and husband Tom, all of Shelton, along with four grandchildren who meant everything to him, Jenna, Thomas, Michael and Ashley, who affectionately referred to him as Papa. He also leaves a sister Joyce Calandro of Shelton, his uncle, John Filakovsky of Trumbull, brothers-and sisters-in-law, Joe Calandro of Shelton, Robert Volpe and his wife Pat of Stratford, Joanne Koolis and her husband Michael of Vermont, as well as several nieces and nephews. Carl will be sadly missed, but never forgotten. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Monday, March 15, 2010 at 9:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10:00 a.m. in St. Margarets Shrine, Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. John Cemetery, Stratford.
