I am just looking at all these messages today 3/14/2024. Janet was loved by so many. I met Janet when I was 18 dating her son John and getting married and having two sons. We got divorced. I also was a friend of Lois for some time. Janet was also always there to encourage me and was my best friend. She was one of a kind. Miss her everyday.

Dear family of Janet Memoli. I am so saddened to hear this news. I’ve been trying to reach Janet for over 6 months and hadn’t heard from her. I do hope she didn’t suffer. I have so many fond memories of janet. And, Janet and Tony. I’ve visited them in Stratford and in Florida dozens of times. I too, am a friend of Lois’ and we shared a very close bond . Janet saw me through some very difficult times. We shared a lot. I remember attending her son’s funeral and meeting her other son by the pool in the Stratford condo. She was an amazing woman. Bright, loving, giving, family oriented, funny, and warm. I know she adored each and every one of you. How lucky you all are to have called her mom, grandma, great grandma and auntie. I hope she is up there dancing with Tony, Zeke, and her son. I send you all my deepest condolences and my love. My heart is broken as I’m sure yours are. She was more than special - she was an angel on earth. I love you Janet. Peace dearheart. All my love, Maria Vailakis-Wippick

I just happened to stumble upon this obituary. I am deeply saddened by the news of Janets passing. My condolences to the entire Carroll and Memoli Families.
Janet was a very special person. She gave from the heart. During a real tough week for me during Dental hygiene school at Fones, Janet gave me the most uplifting personal note. In the note she pointed out features in me she saw and that in her opinion would make me a great hygienist. I still, to this day think of that note on the tough days. She was a wonderful role model and mentor. RIP Janet. Know you live on in so many of us. Maureen

I have the fondest memories of Janet.
It was her community outreach course that I enjoyed most during my time at Fones. She was a supportive professor who inspired her students to do their very best ...I still think of her often and the positive influence she had on me.
May she Rest In Peace

So many fond memories with Jan dating back to the early days at Holy Rosary Church. I imagine she already has her forefinger raised directing things as she often did as a result of her teaching career. Great fun with her and her husband Tony, we will miss them both. Our most sincere condolences to everyone in her family.

Janet, while Director of Fones, gave me a chance as a single mother who wanted to have a profession where I could support my children. She admitted me to the program and mentoring and encouraging me, building my confidence to succeed. I built my career in public health, a passion of Janet’s and eventually became only the second dental hygienist become CT State Dental Director. I will never forget Janet sending me a note of congratulations and expressing her pride in my accomplishments. She was an incredible woman who will be missed.

I am so sorry to hear about the loss of Janet. My heart and prayers reach out to you.
Janet was my teacher at Fones, a mentor at CDHA and a friend. A remarkable women who inspired me. Who said to me after my first child- "Doris- you will have 4 children like me- and still be active in our profession- because that is who we are!" These past few years, I: reconnected with Janet at St Margaret's Church, when I began taking my father there for mass. I always enjoyed our talks after, and held her and your dad in my prayers. For the Connecticut Dental Hygienists, she will always be remembered for giving us the "Red Shoe" tradition. Every year at our Mabel C McCarthy Award Ceremony, we wear red shoes and tell the story of how as a student, she wore red shoes to Mabel's dinner party only to be told "Janet, there are only two kinds of women in this world who wear red shoes, and you are no flamenco dancer!"
Here's to Janet, a legend to us in Connecticut

Janet was a beautiful soul that touched me as a young RDH student. She was connected to all students, she gave of herself every day. I will always be grateful for her, a truly dedicated woman.

David, Marita and family
I am so sorry for you incredible loss, your mom was one special lady who thought of only her family before herself.
I had many chats with her while working with Dave and I enjoyed hearing the joy in her voice as she spoke.
You have great memories to cherish beyond a lifetime with all the many family gatherings you shared.
She gave me her recipe for stuffing and every year I think of her..
This year we will add her to our prayers on Thanksgiving. She is at peace now, dancing with those that went before her.
Look for signs. She is watching for sure..
A mother's love is unconditional always..
She left big shoes to fill, make her proud always..
Her wings were open and God carried her peacefully to her final place..
She will be missed by all the lives she touched with the smile bigger than herself..
God be with all of you through this difficult time. Hold each other close ..

To Her Family,
If I had to choose 5 people most admired among my own friends over the years Jan would be on that list.
She was a guiding light to all around her. I am just sorry I did not know she was ill or that "her work was done".
She must have a very special place in Heaven because she was an angel to so many here on earth.
She will always be loved.
