Obituary of Gerald L. Susi

Gerald L. “Jerry” Susi, age 65, beloved husband of Patti-Joy Pacelli Susi of Hamden, passed away on Friday, January 8, 2021 with his loving wife and children by his side. Born in Bridgeport on December 21, 1955, he was the son of the late John and Josephine (Rose) Susi and was a longtime resident of Bridgeport and Hamden. 

Jerry was the proud owner of the former Gennaro’s Bakery of Hamden and honored member (#63) of the Notre Dame Lancer football team. 

Above all, Jerry loved nothing more than to be with his family and friends – who would all agree that he was the expert storyteller at any gathering and lit up the room with his infectious smile and laugh.

In addition to his wife Patti-Joy of 44 years, survivors include three loving daughters, Janelle of Hamden, Kristin (Gerald) of New Jersey and Allie (Wendell) of Shelton, six cherished grandchildren, Alivia, Jerry, Briana, Giannna, Brysin and Milania, all of whom were the pride and joy of his life as well as several nieces and nephews and many loving family members and friends. He was predeceased by brothers, John Michael Susi and Michael Susi and sisters, Marylou Vernes and Jaqueline Kirk. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, January 13 2021 at 11:00 am in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 2819 Whitney Ave., Hamden. Interment will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford. Face masks and social distancing are required at all times for both church and cemetery. Due to Covid restrictions, calling hours will be private.
