Obituary of Michael L. Carter

Michael L. Carter, age 68, of Bridgeport, the beloved husband of Christine Ruggiero Carter, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at his residence. Born in Bridgeport on November 5, 1952, he was the son of the late Clarence and Arline Kline Carter, and was a lifelong city resident. Mike was a retired operations manager for Laidlaw Transit for many years.

In addition to his wife of 47 years, Christine, survivors include his brother in law, Dominic Ruggiero and his wife Dawn of Fairfield, two sisters in law, Carol Ruggiero of Bridgeport and Diana Davis Ruggiero and her daughter, Juliana Rose Ruggiero of Hamden his niece whom he loved and cherished, his brother Clarence (Jim) Carter and his wife Janice of Woodmont and his sister, Shirley Kerr of Monroe, as well as several, nieces and nephews . He was predeceased by his brother in law, Louis Ruggiero and two sisters, Judith Alexander and Eva Klembara and brother-in-law, Whitney Kerr. In addition, he will be missed by special friends Gary who we know is waiting for him at the gates, his friend and neighbor Mark and friends Bill and Matt his friend and mailman, as well as Frankie and many other longtime friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a graveside funeral service that will take place on Monday, January 25, 2021 at 1:30 p.m. in St. John Cemetery, 500 Moose Hill Road, Monroe. Please wear face masks and follow social distance guidelines. There are no calling hours.
