Obituary of Barbara Ann Hare
Barbara Ann Hare, 88, of New Haven, CT, passed away on Friday, March 12, 2021, after a brief illness.
A gregarious, generous personality and voracious reader, Barbara was also an accomplished seamstress, cook, hairdresser and Daughter of the American Revolution. Never at a loss for opinions, she navigated life's blessings and challenges with an equal mix of humor, stoicism and determination. The travels she enjoyed took her to Florida, Martha's Vineyard and Europe.
Ms. Hare, born November 6, 1932, in Bridgeport, CT, was one of three children, with brothers William Hare of Newtown (predeceased) and Robert (Mickey) Hare of Monroe. Also predeceased are her husband Robert Alechnowicz and parents William A. Hare and Anna Pavia Hare of Bridgeport. She leaves behind her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends: Robert Alechnowicz of New Haven, Kimberly Stevens (Bill) of Milford, David Alechnowicz (Brenda) of Beacon Falls, Todd Alecknovitch of New Haven, Martha Minto (Neal), Alyssa Acton, Caitlin Brown (Stephen), Aili Alechnowicz, Sophia Minto, Neal Minto, Jr., Josephine Minto, Anastasia Brown and Calista Stockholm.
Friends and family are invited to attend a graveside service on Friday, March 19, 2021 at 1:30 pm directly in Monroe Center Cemetery, Old Tannery Road, Monroe.
