Kathleen was kind enough to precept me when I was an acute care nurse practitioner student at Columbia. I was always in awe of her kindness, her accomplishments in the field and the way she paved the way for all nurse practitioners and future clinicians. She left such a large mark on this world. I am so sorry to all her family and friends.

So incredibly sad and heartbreaking. My deepest condolences. I had been early in my career in genetic nursing research and she was generous with her time. She was brilliant and a trailblazer in the field. I will always remember her kindness and guidance.

To Kathleen's family and friends My deepest sympathies I don’t remember how long ago it was when Kathleen and I became friends - we both worked on the GCRC (about the time it became the Irving Center). and it was well before she became Dr. Hickey. Beyond all the clinical, academic, and personal accomplishments, Kathleen was someone who always lit up the room her big, beautiful smile, a voice full of fun and energy, and her humanity. There are no words to describe how much she will be missed by all of us in the CU community who had the privilege of knowing her.
