A beautiful morning at seaside today and I’m walking by the baseball field and see Laura’s beach, and let me tell you it is a beautiful view! May Laura rest in peace. I will always think of her when I walk here.

Laura and I have known each other since 7th grade. We lost touch for a little bit after high school but reconnected over the last 10 years and I was so happy for us to be a part of each others lives again. I spoke to Laura 2 days before her passing, we actually spoke of another young woman in our class who had recently passed away and Laura and I were making plans to get together soon for dinner. My heart is broken knowing those plans will never come to pass. Laura was one of a kind. A true friend to those she cherished. My sincerest most heartfelt condolences to her husband and her family, she loved them all so much. You are all in my thoughts and prayers for comfort and strength.
God shine his perpetual light on Laura and grant her eternal peace in Heaven.
Rest In Peace dear friend, I love you.

I have known Laura most of my life -- she dated my brother, (Bruno) Patrick Rubinsky when they were teens in high school. After many years I reunited with Laura via Facebook and saw her a few times over recent years. She was such a lighthearted person, sharing easily, laughing easily. I stood in a very long funeral line with her when Effie's brother suddenly passed away a few years ago -- we talked for a very long time and sat together in church for the service. Her hair was growing back curly after her cancer treatment -- it really looked great. I loved seeing her sea glass finds on Facebook and she once came to my house and bought a ball jar full of old marbles that I was selling at my tag sale. It saddens me that she is gone from this world so soon. She really was such a good, loving person. I feel blessed to have known her. My heart goes out to her family and friends. XOXOXO to all who loved her.

I cannot remember the exact date when we met Laura at the beach in Seaside Park but she became part of our lives for over 13 years and stayed until the day she passed. We met while she was sea glassing and heard the beat of our drums and music. She became part of our group, we would see her just about everyday during the week and sometimes on Sunday.
.
To give this some context, I started visiting this specific area at Seaside Park at a period in my life when I had to heal both physically and emotionally. I went there almost daily for continued exercise, therapy and relaxation. My friends knew where to find me and they began to join me at that spot. While Laura was sea glassing she would hear the beat of our drums and indigenous Caribbean Music and slowly approached, first with some reservation but shortly she became a regular. At first we couldn't understand why she took to us. We played Spanish Music which she didn't understand; she didn't dance "Salsa" nor did she play any instruments, we were retired from professional careers, she was still working at Chapin and Bangs but she kept coming after work and after her sea glassing and before we knew it - she had became an integral part of our group. She did learn to dance "Salsa" - not very well but she did learn; she loved our music though but more importantly enjoyed our company and we - hers!
She would roll-up in her Nissan Rogue as if she didn't want to miss any part of the conversation. Laura gave our group a sense legitimacy... We were no longer "park bums" to on-lookers, Laura gave us a different look. She was funny; kind; generous and thoughtful. and oh, do we have some funny stories of events that happened during those encounters. She would bring her friends and family to join us periodically at Seaside Beach and we also became friends. Every so often we would change the music genre for her and she would comment "Oh, you are finally playing good music" then start to laugh in that loud laughter of hers. We already miss her at the Beach... every time we see a Nissan Rogue - we think its her but then reality sits in.
We will always treasure those special moments with Laura now and we also know that we have become better human beings because of her. May her family and friends be comforted in knowing what a special person she was to all of us at Seaside. We, at the Beach, will never forget the beautiful person Laura was and hope her wonderful spirit remains with us until the day we depart as well... from Frank Delgado "El Bailarin Del Mambo" on WPKN

That was beautifully written. Because of Laura I met y'all too.
She truly loved being with the group at the park, more than anything honestly.
You guys brought her comfort and peace. For that I am eternally grateful.
I haven't been able to go to the park yet.
Hopefully soon. I'd like to see everyone.
