Obituary of Kathryn Koulouris-Hernciar

Kathryn Koulouris-Hernciar, age 73, of WeekiWachee, FL, passed away peacefully on January 26, 2021.

Born in White Plains, NY to the late James Fields Travis and Ada Driscoll Travis, she was raised in Greenwich and had been a Stratford and Wolcott resident before recently moving to Florida. Kathy had worked as the controller for the Inn at Long Shore in Westport for over 27 years. She had a passion for gardening and worshipped the sun. Kathy always enjoyed having a house full of people and will be fondly remembered for her kindness and selfless generosity.

She was predeceased by her beloved son, John Travis Hernciar, her second husband, Chris Koulouris, her grandson, Michael Hurta and her sister, Betty Anne Tappan. Our family also recently lost her husband, John P. Hernciar on April 3, 2021.

Survivors include her two daughters, Lisa Marie Davies of Ansonia and Lori Egan and her husband Eric of Wolcott, a son, Chris Koulouris and his wife Sherri of Beacon Falls, a sister, Carolyn Standing and her husband Roy of Rockville, MD. She also leaves behind her five grandchildren, Tiffany Hurta, Amanda Davies, Alyssa and Kaylee Egan and Peter Jack (PJ) Allen, three great grandchildren, Eric Rentas, Jayvian and Lyla Rodriguez, and three nieces.

A walk-through visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, April 21, 2021 from 9:30-11:00 a.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull. Masks are required and social distancing will be expected as guests walk through, pay their respects and exit without lingering to ensure everyone has the same opportunity. A Funeral Home service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be private.
