Obituary of Walter C. Kotelsky

Resident of Bridgeport Walter C. Kotelsky, age 90, of Bridgeport, a retired supervisor for the State of Connecticut Department of Transportation Tolls Division, died on Sunday, June 21, 2009 in Bridgeport Hospital. Born in Bridgeport on June 20, 1919, he was the son of the late Michael and Anna Hajyuva Kotelsky. A U. S. Army veteran of World War II, he was a Harding High School graduate of the class of 1936. He was an avid fan of the New York Yankees. He was pre-deceased by his wife Antoinette Galatie Kotelsky, two brothers-in-law John and Anthony Galatie and a sister-in-law, Theresa Capozzi. Survivors include his daughter Gail Messina and her fiance Kevin Mello of Monroe, three grandsons, Nicholas R. Messina and his wife Stefanie of Easton, Michael J. Messina and Anthony J. Messina, both of Monroe, a great grandson, Luke Messina, two brothers-in-law, Joseph and Richard Galatie, a sister-in-law Gloria Bennett, all of Stratford and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the doctors and staff of the Bridgeport Hospital ICU and ER for their professionalism, kindness and compassion that went above and beyond the responsibilities of their jobs. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Thursday, June 25, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 11:30 a.m. in St. Andrew Church, Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment with military honors will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may call on Wednesday from 3-7 p.m.
